Dear Potential Supporter,
The Ocular Nutrition Society (ONS) is a group of eye care professionals dedicated to educating eye doctors and patients alike about the importance of nutrition for optimal visual performance and ocular health, including the prevention and management of chronic eye disease. The study of nutritional influences on eye disease is still in its infancy, but the evidence is growing. We believe the eye care community is interested in this relatively new area of science concerning eye and related systemic conditions. It is the goal of the ONS to enable eye care practitioners to feel confident in using nutritional products as a first line defense against many common and serious eye conditions, or as an adjunct to pharmaceutical therapy.
- Our society looks to corporate and industry partners for support.
- We produce educational materials for eye care providers and their patients.
- We maintain an informational website that features online, accredited courses in nutrition as well as abstracts from relevant scientific sources.
- We produce at least two high-level, live educational conferences each year.
- Our leaders deliver hundreds of hours of on-line and live continuing education programs internationally, and many are prolific writers and contributors to the larger scientific community.
Through these and other activities, we aim to establish ONS as the authoritative resource for ocular nutrition. We currently have about 500 active members and about 800 followers on social media and continued growth is a priority. With your help we can plan for a bigger and brighter future with an updated website and develop more materials to help nutrition be integrated into the care of the patients our doctors see on a daily basis and outreach to the larger profession. We would like to invite you to participate as a supporter of the Ocular Nutrition Society at one of four levels. If your company is interested in providing an educational grant, we are happy to work with you to ensure that any grant is provided in accordance with your companies’ policies and procedures and other relevant industry standards

According to the IRS, a qualified sponsorship payment is “any payment made by a person engaged in a trade or business for which the person will receive no substantial benefit other than the use or acknowledgement of the business name, logo, or product lines in connection with the organization’s activities.” For instance, if a nonprofit organization simply acknowledges the sponsor’s name, logo, and/or slogan, then the nonprofit organization would not have to pay tax on the income. Please realize that we cannot specifically endorse your products to our members directly, but will frequently and explicitly recognize your sponsorship at every available opportunity.
We are excited and grateful for the possibility of partnering with your company, and will contact you shortly to discuss options that may be mutually beneficial.
