Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Willing is not enough; we must do.--Goethe
The demand for vision services is expected to flood the healthcare system by 2015 due to age related eye disease and the diabetes epidemic. As the baby boomer generation is aging, research shows that the number of people in the United States with impaired vision -- including blindness -- could increase by at least 60 percent over the next three decades. Therefore, disease prevention, including lifestyle modification, attention to dietary intake and micronutrient supplementation must become more of a focus of primary vision care.
